Whew the past 5 weeks have been so much busier than I could have imagined! That's right Halle Kate is already 5 weeks old! I cannot believe I have been home with her that long! I really thought I would be bored out of my mind staying home with her all summer! Man was I wrong! I am not really sure what we have been doing with our time because I have NOTHING to show for it. I guess for the most part I have been grading papers, writing thank you notes, shopping for Halle :), and trying to finish her nursery. However trying to be productive has been a complete joke! It seems like as soon as I get going on a project or something it is time to feed her again! YIKES!!! It sure makes me respect all of you moms with toddlers that have newborns, I don't know how you do it!
The weekend of the 12th and 13th we went to my hometown, Tyler Tx, for a little Sip -n- See for my family and friends to meet Halle Kate. It was so much fun!!! I just loved seeing my family ooh and ahh over her :). She met my grandparents for the first time and they were absolutely in love!
I absolutely LOVE going home to visit. My parents live on the lake and I have so many great memories with family and friends playing on the lake. Sooo I thought it would be a good idea to take Halle on her first ride on the barge to introduce her.
Then on Thursday, my brother Ryan came to visit. Ryan lives in Colorado Springs and I don't get to see him very often :(. He is one of my favorite people in the world! So, naturally, I couldnt wait for him to come and meet Halle Kate! It was love at first sight! He was so sweet with her! I was so sad when he had to leave on Sunday. If you think about it, pray for Ryan. He leaves for India on Thursday to do some work with an engineering ministry team designing water systems for a school there. I get a little nervous when he travels like that, but I know that the Lord has given him a great passion for missions. His obedience to the Lord challenges me so much.
